Free or with support included?

We offer a fully-functional free version that allows researchers to easily take advantage of a complete driving simulation for their studies. By keeping it this way and open-source, we aim to establish it as a standard in automotive research testing and evaluation. For professional users, we offer a version that includes support options and additional content such as validated driving tasks provided by white|c.

We have a forum where you can exchange with other OpenDS users. There is also a LinkedIn group that you can participate in to get the latest development news, or you can register on this website. Have a great driving task or city model that you'd like to share? We'll be glad to hear from you! In any case, let us know what you like best about OpenDS and which feature you'd like to see in future versions.

Good News:

Through a special partnership with esri, maker of ArcGIS and expert in the field of GIS software, we can now offer you a bundle with CityEngine, a software for creating highly customizable 3D models based on city maps. This perfect combination of design tools for rapidly creating rich and realistic urban driving environments and driving simulation and evaluation component has been asked for repeatedly by the community.

Initiated as part of EU-funded project GetHomeSafe, the software will continue to evolve and be adjusted to meet the requirements of our community. Professional marketing and support is available through our partnership whit white|c, a spin-off of DFKI (the main development partner).
